it should be Otona no combini
人 is hito when it stands alone but 大人 is pronounced otona

Yeah, you are right, the other word is dainin (which is a on reading)

Your reading of 大人 as “oh hito” is salah lah. It should be “otona”, possibly a contraction between the two most common sexes “otoko” (“man”) and “onna” (“woman”). Nice try though.
